Can Aliases be used inside connectionstrings?
Hello
i'm rather new to Centera and its sdk. The customer's system administrator has asked me to use aliases in my connection string instead of ip addresses. For example, having the following :
192.168.0.1 CENTERA_01
192.168.0.2 CENTERA_02
192.168.0.3 CENTERA_03
...
i should use "CENTERA_01,CENTERA_02,CENTERA_03?file.pea" instead of "192.168.0.1,192.168.0.2,192.168.0.3?file.pea" . Is this possible (all example and tutorial i've found use ip addresses) .
If it's possible , what are the aliases of Centera online Clusters (i cannot access the customer's cluster) .
thank you in advance

Hello Stefano -
Yes, hostnames are perfectly valid in Centera connection strings. Of course, this assumes that the application host is able to map these hostnames to IP addresses via either a DNS query or the local 'hosts' file.
Good Luck,
