Is Centera Replication bi-directional ?

Hi,

We have a Centera replication set in our production envrionement

A merged profile is used to access to Replicated pools

i want to know if the replication is bi-directional ? that means if any write on each side is replicated to other side ?

Thanks

Hi,

From the CLI on your Production Centera issue the "show replication detail" command.

This will show you that replication is enabled and it will show the IP addresses of the target Centera it is replicating to.

From the Target Centera issue the CLI command "show replication detail".

If it says replication is disabled then replication is running in a uni-directional configuration.

If it says Replication is enabled and the Replication Address are pointing back to the Production Centera then replication is running in a bi-directional configuration.

A merged pea file is used by the application for all data pools, regardless of the replication type.

In your environment date written to the source cluster (the cluster on which the replication is enabled) will get replicated to the target, however data written to the target will never get replicated to the source.

Thanks a lot

it seems that we have an uni-directional replication

Hi,

in a bidirectional environment di you set the same pools to be replicated over the other Centera?

Is this a supported environment? how do you know that the data is not been replicated all the time from one centera to the other?

There is a parameter for replicating replicated content.
