Stuck Regens
Hi All,
I wish to start a Thread on Stuck Regens on Centera (All Gens), Lets Discuss this topic in detail.
Analyze the Tasks running in the background responsible for it.
Find out why it is slower in older Centera.
We use Centera Viewer,
go to Commands > Regenerations
If there are regenerations in "stuck" state or regenerations have been active for a longtime,
then this is an indication that we need to check the cluster integrity.
If there are multiple stuck Regens, we need to start from the oldest first.
In many cases the Regens are stuck due to drive or node failure.
Every disk (except for those in same node as failure) in cluster could potentially have mirror copy of blobs that were on a failed disk, so therefore, a "regenerator" is created for each type like performance regen, hyper regen and conditional regen.
Any response are welcome.

Phukon - this topic is in no way related to the Centera SDK, so I doubt you will get any helpful answers here!

Contact EMC Support and open an SR (Service Request). The first step is to upgrade the Centera code (CentraStar) to the latest version. The latest versions have updates to correct many of these issues automatically but if it doesn't then EMC Support will clean up the rest.
