Unable to register the netapp filer on CTA

I am not able to get the netapp filer registered on the CTA. The error message what I get from the GUI is " Not able to add the filer" . Do we have any logs where we can check what is the cause of this so that we can trouble shoot on that.
Also if there is a way to check if the CTA is talking to a particular DNS server.
