Adjust Raid 10 size vs Raid 6

Hi guys,

We have a SCv2080 with 8T*84 NL-SAS. It's configured to have Raid 10 DM+Raid 6 and current usage is ~80%.

It appears that Raid 10 takes up about 100TB of Space and Raid 6 gets about 400TB. However I also noticed that data in Raid10 was mostly if not completely moved to Raid 6 tier upon generation of daily snapshot. Our daily writes are usually within 10TB, therefore it's hard to justify such a large reserve of RAID 10 DM from a non-professional's perspective.

Is it possible to shrink the size of Raid 10 tier and increase that of Raid 6? I've actually heard conflicting answers so far, one engineer saying it's doable through command line while several answers posted said the opposite.

Thanks,

Peter

Hello Peter,
You can run the prune please command in secure console, & it will prune the space on the next time data progression runs. You can either contact support, or you can send me a private message with your controller serial# & we can use secure console to prune the data to the correct tier.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
