Pair of Nexus switches with SC9000

Customer is wanting to implement a pair of switches to provide a redundant connection to a pair of SC9000.  I want to validate that the correct design is to connect one SC9000 to one switch and the other SC9000 to the other switch and the attached servers would be connected to each switch.  There isn't any need to connect the switches together or perform vPC to peer the switches.

Hello toddbass10,

Here is a link to our switch configuration guides for SC series systems. https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln310825/switch-configuration-guides-for-sc-series-or-ps-series-sans?lang=en

In an SC Series SAN environment, there is no need for an interconnect between the two switches.  Each fault domain resides within its own switch.

Now, even if the switches were connected together via a LAG/Stack/VPC, this is still OK as long as the SC storage controllers are correctly cabled.  Each fault domain must reside within its own subnet/switch.  With proper cabling (end-end), I/O to/from the SC controllers will never cross the interconnect.
