probem storage sc2020
hello,
it's a new integration for the storage sc2020
I connected the storage properly by following the manual with tow san switchs cisco MDS 9148s 16G FC
when i initialized the storage i noticed that virtual ports does not exist
after the initialization has been finished I noticed that the virtual ports are disabled:
when i do this command in cisco switch
cisco-mds# show flogi database
i can see only the physical ports
fc1/1 1 0x540300 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:05 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:00 --->compellent port
fc1/3 1 0x540100 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:07 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:00 --->compellent port
fc1/5 1 0x540500 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:12 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:00 --->compellent port
fc1/7 1 0x540600 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:14 50:00:d3:10:03:cb:10:00 --->compellent port
fc1/9 1 0x540400 10:00:00:10:9b:1b:00:ee 20:00:00:10:9b:1b:00:ee --->server port
so the virtual ports does not exist to configure zoning.
any help please ??

Re: Enabling NPIV
You must globally enable NPIV for all VSANs on the MDS switch to allow the NPIV-enabled applications to use multiple N port identifiers.
Note All of the N port identifiers are allocated in the same VSAN
Enable NPIV mode on the NPV core switch:
switch(config)# npiv enable
switch (config)#
enabling NPIV on the core switch is non-disruptive. DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH ENABLING NPV MODE on a switch
