switch# show module
Mod Ports Module-Type Model Status
--- ----- -------------------------------- ------------------ ------------
1 16 1/2 Gbps FC Module DS-X9016 ok
2 32 1/2 Gbps FC Module DS-X9032 ok
3 48 1/2/4 Gbps FC Module DS-X9148 ok
4 32 Storage Services Module DS-X9032-SSM ok
5 0 Supervisor/Fabric-1 DS-X9530-SF1-K9 ha-standby
6 0 Supervisor/Fabric-1 DS-X9530-SF1-K9 active *
8 24 1/2/4 Gbps FC Module DS-X9124 ok
9 24 1/2/4 Gbps FC Module DS-X9124 ok
You should see something similar to the above with your line card listed and the status as 'ok'. If it is not powered up, go into 'conf t' and powerup the module:
switch# no poweroff module X (where x is the module number)
