no need to disable the switch, you only need to disable the switch if you need to change domain Id, change interopmode ..etc.

Hi

thanks a lot, the version is OS 5.3.0, is there any need to disable the switch, to configure the initial ipaddress. I think we use the command ipaddrset to set the ipaddress later on, once we configure the ipaddress by Disabling the switch , CONFIGURE and Enabling the switch. Is this correct?

Thanks

I understand there is no need to Disable the switch for configuring the initial IP details (IP address, subnet mask, gateway etc) - however, if you want you can disable it and then enable the switch - since this is new, there will be no issue (although it is not needed).

By the way - welcome to the EMC Support Forums :) - hope you 'll have a wonderful time with all of us here. Also, request you to kindly mark replies as "Correct" (only one per thread) and/or "Helpful" (upto 2 per thread) answers.

Thanks,
Sandip
