Dell XPS 15 L502X - Service tag issues

Hi, I have purchased Dell XPS 15 L502X in US and later transferred ownership to India address. Now I am not able to chat with or e-mail to Dell US Customer support. Also in India, tech support IVR is not able to identify the service tag. What could be the solution for this issue?? An Dell India customer care person suggested to transfer it back to US, so that I can chat with the customer care, is this the correct process or valid process??
