Inspiron 5000 - Poor Quality and poor customer service

My laptop needed its first repair within one year (under warrantee). Two months later the motherboard failed (not under warrantee). Dell would not repair or replace at a reasonable cost (quoted $360 before tax). Considering that it is lemon, it would be foolish for me to pay Dell any more for this defective computer. I note that this computer was not abused and was lightly used (mostly word processing) at home, on a desk. It is surprising that Dell does not stand behind its product. I have purchased 5 laptops from Dell (one for every family member), and I expect them to last at least 5 yrs. The customer service representative (Mohamad) was curt and rude - apparently I should not expect Dell to take care of it's good, repeat customers ("what do you expect":, is what he said). My next computers (to replace the lemon Dell and to replace the older Dells) will not be by Dell. I'll be looking for a good quality reliable machines.
