Latitude laptop

In 2012 I purchased a Dell Latitude for about $900. A year and a month later the screen became grainy, jumpy, and too light. I called Dell and paid to have my problem diagnosed. I was told by Dell that I would be better off to buy a new computer than to have my Latitude fixed. Yes, I am going to buy a new computer, but it won't be another Dell. A laptop that lasts 13 months is a practically disposable item.
