registration of equipment purchased through Amazon
I purchased a new P2415Q monitor from Amazon. Registering it is proving to be almost impossible. The monitor has no service tag and after a rash of phone calls (45 minutes today alone speaking with 4 different customer care employees) and multiple chat sessions it appears that no one knows how to get this done. The Transfer Ownership function does not work as it requires a Service Tag.
Any ideas?

Without a service tag number, registration is not possible. A Dell account containing a Dell customer number is only created if you buy directly from Dell. If you ever need the monitor exchanged within the 3 year period embedded in the 20 digit serial number, go here to the Monitor Forum board. Open the announcement, "Monitor warranties and replacement instructions (updated 3/18/16)".
Scroll down to, "Monitors without a service tag number purchased from resellers (Amazon, Best Buy, Buy.com, Cost Co, Walmart, Sams, other online store, eBay, etc.)".
