Adding and removing arrays from group

I have 2 x PS6010 arrays that i will be retiring and replacing with 2 x PS6210 arrays. Because i do not have enough room to delete the PS6010 i need to initialize the 2 PS6210 arrays first. My question is should i wait to delete the two 6010 arrays until the group balances out after adding the 6210 or can i go ahead and remove the 2 x 6010 arrays immediately after adding the 2 x 6210 arrays.

The firmware of all arrays in group shoud be at the same level.

1. initialize PS6210, add to existing group to the new pool - data will not move automaticaly from PS6010 to PS6210.

2. move volumes from old pool (PS6010) to the new one (PS6210) one by one

3. after migrating all data, remove PS6010's from group

are you saying that the 2 new ps6210 arrays cannot be added to the existing pool, the default pool? There are currently two pools. the default pool and a pool for the SSD array.

New arrays can be added to the existing pool, of course.

What kind of OS (servers) PS6010 volumes are mapped to?
