Help! I just renewed my subscription for DataSafe Online for another year, and now I can't get my backup to work. I selected files for backup, but when I click to do a manual backup, I get the following error message:
BuEng_2203
MD5 validation failed, backup aborted
I can't find any place on the Dell site to get help for Dell DataSafe, unless I pay for an online chat with tech support, since my warranty just expired on my laptop. Any ideas?
You may want to post this in the correct section (Desktops or Laptops). Dell|EMC storage doesn't deal with DataSafe so the people that check this part of the board (like myself) may not know enough about DataSafe to assist you.
I am having the same issue. Just renewed my Dell DataSafe Online for another year, and I too, cannot get my backup to work. It does an auto backup once a week, and since I renewed, my log says backup successful, but there is a red X. Upon further investigation, I am getting an MD5 Validation Failed, Backup Aborted message.
What is this and how can I fix it, since in now appears my files are not getting backed up! Can anyone help?
I am having the same issue with a recently-renewed DataSafe subscription. Get error codes BuEng_1017 and LA1017 #2101. The activity list often says the check was unsuccessful. Occasionally it says it WAS successful, but there is a big red X in the margin. I've only succeeded in getting one green check so far!
Call Dell Online Datasafe Support at 877-218-1671, This is the phone # that was on your renewal email. Help is included with your annual datasafe payment. You will need your service tag #. They told me you will not find any help about datasafe on the main Dell site.
