Dell M8428-k 10GBE converged switch with fiber - hardware question

I'm looking for a relatively small, low power 10GBE FCoE switch that has fiber ports.

The Dell M8428-k looks promising, except of course it's expected to be plugged into a Blade enclosure. I don't wish to go that route.

Does anyone know if it is only using the enclosure for power? In other words, if I open it up and rig up a separate power supply can I run it as a standalone unit?
