EMC 5300
Guys, can some one please tell me what is the difference between the part number 9TH066-002 and 9TH066-031. What does the last 3 digits represents and will it work on my EMC VNX or the last 3 digits should match as well. Thank You

Part# 9TH066-002 is for a Poweredge server and will not work in any EMC device as it doesn’t have EMC firmware on the drive.
9TH066-031 is showing as an EMC drive and should work in your VNX5300. The biggest thing to look at when looking at drives for an EMC system is that the drive needs to have the EMC firmware on the drive & the drive say EMC on it. If the drives don’t then your EMC system in most cases will power down the drive & mark it as bad.
