MD1200 Orange Light

Currently have a MD1200 connected via SAS Cable to a Server.

Orange light on the MD1200 - Cannot access this through the Server to confirm what the error is. MD1200 basically acts as a external hard drive to the server. Checked the Hard Drives that are in MD1200 and are all ok and data is being stored fine.

Any ideas on how to find out what the light is on for?

Hello daniella2013,

what you will need to do is to run a Dset on the server so that we can review the logs to see what is causing the orange light on the MD.  Here is a link to download the Dset tool if you don’t already have it. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/poweredge-t410?driverId=R307647&osCode=WS8R2&fileId=2731119520&languageCode=en&categoryId=DI You can run the Dset on the server live as it doesn’t require a reboot.  I will also send you a private message & you can upload the Dset there & I can review it for you.

Please let us know if you have any other questions

I have the same issue and this was the first hit on Google when I searched.

The link for the Dset tool no longer works (10 years later, go figure).

Is there an updated way to do this?  My MD1200 is connected to an R720 that is currently running Free BSD.
