Perc 810 vs HBA SAS 12GB with R430 + MD1200
I would like to understand the difference between putting a PERC 810 and putting a 12gb HBA to an R430 server to directly control a JBOD MD1200?

Hello mbmmbmbn,
You can look at the difference between a PERC & HBA as few drives or many drives. With a PERC card, you will create your virtual disk in the controllers Bios. Only the virtual disk that are created are presented & seen by your OS. When you use a HBA all 12 drives are presented to the OS.
