DD 160

Hello. I ask for help. There is a DD160, it includes VTL on FC. DataDomain for FC is connected to HP BladeSystem c3000. On the HP BladeSystem c3000 is installed VMWare ESXi 5.5. The problem is that in ESXi I can not see Datastore. Apparently I'm doing something wrong or do not understand.

I believe I replied to your other post.  The VTL stands for "virtual tape library", with emphasis on tape.  ESX does not understand, nor can utilize, a VTL as a Datastore.  A Datastore is a Disk.  If you need to use the VTL for backups, you have to pass the VTL as an RDM to a VM.  In other environments, I have seen the VTL passed through to a Windows or Linux server, so that a backup application like Networker or NetBackup can use it for backups.

Let us know if that helps!

If you have the licence for it and it is zoned right in your fiber switch it should work.
