Several questions regarding Data Domain 2500.
Good morning,
Can i ask some questions regarding DD2500 ?
Q1: What RAID Level does it use ? RAID 6 plus one hotspare ?
Q2: Can Management/CIFS/NFS share the same network interface(for example ethMa) and IP address ?
Q3: What function does the IPMI interface have ? Should i cable it to a switch ?
Q4: Which simulated library type should i select for Symantec Netbackup software ?

I believe by default this is raid6 (which is 2 spares). Not sure about second question, but different protocols can be used via same interface. IPMI is for remote management and in 99% of cases this is not used (even if people configure it); you need another box for it. For VTL, choose one which is on NBU compatibility guide.

no necessarily, you can use ipmitool on Linux and ipmiutil on Windows to do the same thing

Raid6 use two interfaces one in each card in aggregation or standby mode for redundancy - use this IP/name to register with the backup application use additional IPs and dynamic interface groups for additional bandwidth load balancing IPMI is for lights out - unless you are remote and can't reach it may good to have use DDVTL emulation cheers, -e
