Will directory replication be convert to mtree replication during DDOS upgrade to 5.0 or 5.1 from 4.9?

Will directory replication be convert to mtree replication during DDOS upgrade to 5.0 or 5.1 from 4.9? I found "LSUs are converted to mtrees during the DDOS upgrade to 5.0 or 5.1 from 4.9 on a KB article "Potential Problem with LSU Conversion after Upgrading to 5.0(000181803)"(https://support.emc.com/kb/181803). But I can't find about the replication convertion. Will it be converted during the DDOS upgrade to 5.0 or 5.1 from 4.9 automatically?
