showmount now showing all shares on DD

Showmount -e shows only NFS shares which are exported for all(*) or for subnet. But it does not show share if it is explicitly exported only for one host. Is there some reason for this? I skipped through DDOS release notes but did not find any features which might enable hiding NFS shares. Or is there some kind of best practice not to export NFS share to one host anymore but to subnet and this behaviour is to encourage people to move from sharing for host to sharing for subnet? Or its something else.

When you do showmount -e from the host where share is exported, I guess you can see it, right?

Host is Data Domain. I didn't find showmount command on DD CLI.

Sorry, from the host where share is exported to - that is what I meant.

Maybe I am messing up terms here but there is Data Domain, there is MTree and under Protocols it shows NFS exported - Yes, and under NFS Export there is one client specified with hostname, full domain name, lets say host1.domain.dom. Name resolves both ways correctly. If I do "showmount -e dd.domain.dom" on host1.domain dom then I don't see this NFS share. I see it only if I add subnet or * among clients for this NFS share/export. Its kind of inconvenience when I want to know which shares are are available for specified host from DD. I either comb through all NFS shares on DD management interface or I must add subnet for client list for all shares.

Our DD was upgraded to 6.0.1.0-556307 recently and I remember that I have seen NFS shares with showmount -e before upgrade. For now I have tried from Oracle linux, Ubuntu, Windows 2008, Windows 2012 and they all show only shares shared with * or subnet. I guess I leave it for another time when I have some spare time and get sufficiently annoyed by that. But thanks for checking anyway.

But... got an idea and checked out and I see share if client is specified by IP address but I don't see share if I put fully qualified domain name there. Or short name. Maybe there is some bug or some option on DD which I haven't found.

I tried this, but it seems to work for me so I assume it might be either to bug in specific DDOS or something else is set (like some kind of specific hardening, but I doubt this is your case).  You can try to open a support ticket to get official explanations, but I tried this now on older DDOS (5.4.4.2-453843) and there it works just fine (I had one share shared to everyone and one to specific IP (/ddvar in my case).  I never tested this with user created shares, but I'm not aware that some difference should be there...
