Remove DDPE from disk connected via USB

Hello

We upgraded to 1709 on one laptop with DDPE (with dell data security, enterprise) and now it won´t boot (bsod). I would like to save the data on the drive, so I was wondering if it's possible to connect the drive via USB and remove the encryption using another computer?

Regards,

Hi Smidaren,

I'm sorry to hear about the failed update. It is possible to pull data from the drive to another device. our Recovery guide walks through how to detect the encryption key for the device, download it from the Dell Security Management Server (Formerly DDP server) and then how to open the encryption keys to allow you to copy data to another disk.

Those steps are available here: http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/19/dell-data-protection-encryption/recoveryguide/recover-encrypted-drive-data?guid=guid-2221bee9-0544-46d2-bea8-b83df9d6de7a&lang=en-us

We have a pre-created boot disc that contains our drivers that will allow you to run through this process. you can download this disc here:

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=MVY4X

Let us know if you have any additional questions, or if this process does not work for you!
