Error occured while downloading the catalog

Hi,

I have installed Dell OME ovf using VMware. And Dell Repositary Manager was installed on Windows servers and catalog file is also downloaded. When I try to create Firmware Baseline using NFS/CIFS I am getting below error:

"""

Job Execution details:

  • Repository creation failed. Please provide valid credentials and/or repository path.
  • Task failed.Execution has completed

Please have a look and suggest the fix

Hi Kalyan,

You may want to check if the share created is accessible from OpenManage Enterprise network. If they both are in the same network, you may want to look at the ports required to be opened for OpenManage Enterprise and share. The details related to ports are present in the online help for the appliance.

Did you find any resolution? I’m running into this problem and verify with wireshark that OME 3.1 can connect to the CIF share.

Still fail. I did not have this problem with Essential v2.5.

Thank you

I know it's not an answer to your question (difficult to answer since you didn't provide much details like verbose logs or a packet capture between OME and Repository Manager) but I was wondering if you couldn't just use the online repository. It's really straightforward. You don't need to do anything yourself like installing Repository Manager. Is your OME appliance not having Internet access or what's the issue?

Jammac, Thank you for replying. My production environment is air-gapped environment with no internet access. I used Dell repository manager to download all of the contents and export out to external drive. The files are then copy to the share in the production environment. I disabled host base and hardware firewall in the segment of CIF share host and OME 3.1. I can connect to CIF share from both Linux (Ubuntu) and Server 2016 hosts. I did also try connect to the share from workgroup computer where I have to supply the credential. All work just fine. I used wireshark to capture the traffic between OME appliance and the CIF share host, and see the negotiation using username and password are OK. Then i got disconnect with ERROR: STATUS_END_OF_FILE at the end.

I see. Well you can choose between CIFS, NFS, HTTP and HTTPS for access to the repository AFAICS.

From these four, CIFS would be the one I'd try last. Also you don't have full access to the OME appliance and therefore it's very hard to debug why OME can't connect.

In your original post you wrote that you tried NFS too. Why didn't that work? Was there incoming traffic on the NFS server? Do you have packet capture from the attempts using NFS? In any case I'd use NFS or HTTP access. Both should be a breeze to set up on Repository Manager side.

EDIT: I see you're using Repository Manager on Windows. Instead of setting up IIS (unless you're comfortable with that) I'd go with NFS then. NFS server is included with Windows.
