Offline Updates to OpenManage Enterprise?

I am running OpenManage Enterprise 1.0.0 (Build 543) in  an environment where there is no internet access. I see now that there's a tech update. Looking for a way to update my installation to the latest version. I can download a new .ovf, but that will not retain any of my data.

Is there a different download available that will update 1.0.0 (Build 543) to the latest revision?

Thanks

-John

Hi,

Thanks for your post. There has not been any release of OpenManage Enterprise after 1.0. We are checking internally as to how you are seeing a new tech release posted and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi John,

I’m in an offline environment as well and wanted to update to the 3.0.0 release.

I ran to dump on the host machine when clicking the check for update button and then looked at the http request. Head to

You’ll need the

LexingtonUpdates.xml

LexingtonUpdates.xml.asc

and the contents of the archive directory (it’s only the one update .tar.gz)

Mirror the whole directory to your offline location (web server is easiest) and then put the url in offline update location (ignore that it says it only supports https. Http is fine) before clicking the check for update button.  Then it should find the available update for installation.

Great job. I was able to use this info to update my 3.0.0 to 3.1 and develop internal documentation for our operations team to use.

Thank you!

To add to the solution above for IIS folks staging the files

Keep an eye on the weblog - use netsh http flush logbuffer if it's lightly used and you want to hurry up the logs.

If you're seeing 401 on the requests you may need to disable Windows Auth and enable Anonymous Auth on the site

If you get 200 on the .xml but 404 on the .xml.asc, check MIME types. Very likely .asc is not listed. Add it as text/plain. It worked for me just on the folder rather than adding at site level.

* I didn't follow the above advice on .asc MIME type. Followed and success

I am getting 404 on plugins_catalog.xml and plugins_catalog.xml.asc. I don't see those on the download site in the corresponding area. There are files by those names under each individual plugin but I don't believe that's what it's looking for.
