Update servers via Update management tool fails
I use Update management (version 1.1) into OME
I want to update a R7525 with latest Firmware updates but it fails each time with errors below:
Running
Starting communication with the device.
Checking LC-Service state
Checking Remote Services availability
Remote Service is ready.
Response returned is empty while creating Job for: DCIM:INSTALLED#iDRAC.Embedded.1-1#IDRACinfo
Trying again to create the Job.

Hello,
What troubleshooting steps have been taken so far? Based on the error, it sounds like the issue is sourcing from the target device.

Hello,
I made first a reset of the idrac on the target. Then updated via idrac only the bios and the idrac itself
I restarted also OME without success

Hello,
Situations similar to the problem here are mostly due to timing issues related to iDRAC. So when iDRAC FW starts to update, OME has to wait for the iDRAC FW update to finish and restart before sending the rest of the FW updates. On servers, this can sometimes take a long time and OME can send these jobs before iDRAC can be initialized. You can check if the OME is up to date and as a workaround you can create a new firmware update job without iDRAC FW and try.

I have the error for any firmware that I try to deploy via OME
I tried to push BIOS only, IDRAC only, or Network card only.. Each time I have the same issue

Sorry to hear that, which OME version are you using? Do these errors only happen on this R7525 or on other servers?

Hello,
It was an issue of user permission with the user used for discovery. This user had read only permission
It is used also to push updates to IDRAC of servers
Putting right permissions solved the issue
Thanks
