What is OMEnt log and alert retention policy
Hi All,
I want to know OpenManage Enterprise logs and alerts retention policy.
OMEnt logs retention policy is any period base or OMEnt disk capacity base?
Because I want to keep all alerts and events for 1 year, this is my customer policy.
Best Regards.

Here's a link to that section of the user guide.
"At a time, a maximum of 50,000 alerts can be generated and viewed by using OpenManage Enterprise. When 95% of the 50,000 limit (47,500) is reached, OpenManage Enterprise generates an internal message indicating that, when the count reaches 50,000, OpenManage Enterprise will automatically purge 10% (5000) of the archived alerts."
And for archived alerts:
The answer is going to depend on how many alerts you're generating (essentially how many servers you're managing and how many issues they have). Depending on how many alerts you're generating, you may want to download the Archive alerts (Oldest 5000) on a regular basis.

Kudos to qdellforum on this one!

Continuing on his/her response, you might also check out the part of the guide I linked to, in order to help manage alerts, or in case you want to set up a script to automatically download and archive alerts, if you're generating enough to cause some of them to be deleted.
