Lot Of Questions :) OpenManage Essentials & SupportAssist

Hello Everyone, many questions about OME & SA :)

Version OME : 2.0.1 / SA : 2.0

First Question About SupportAssist for OME :
I change DRAC name directly on DRAC Gui (iDRAC Settings \ Network \ DRAC Name)
Name about Server on OpenManage Essentials have been modified without errors but On SupportAssist previous name is still Present.
I tried to refresh from OME - Provided new Inventory but issue still present.
My Question is : It is possible to Force refresh on SupportAssist ?

Last Question :) : About SupportAssist
No DNS Server is present on my Test Infrastructure.
If SupportAssist would like to open Case & Collect Log (DSET or Lasso) is necessary to provide DNS name and need to be reachable, right ?
If yes, it is possible to by-pass DNS or Resolution ? In fact if I ping Device-Test Server will be not reachable...

I heard SupportAssist will be available with DellTech Direct :)
When this option will be available ? For Server

Hi there.

I'm trying to find a SA guy that can address your questions....ping me next week if you don't see anything.   I'm not sure if there is a SA windows service that can be restarted.

Regarding first issue, I would remove the device from OME, verify it’s removed from SupportAssist then re-discover the device again in OME. SupportAssist has its own DB and it sounds like it’s not refreshing that data.

Second question

If not part of the DNS it will need to be added to the host file as a workaround, we did this in earlier versions and would think the same would work in the latest version.

Here is the workaround on the OME/DSA Server:

Under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\

Edit the hosts file.

Add the IP Address and server name to the file, save and close

For Example, 10.10.10.10             myServerName

Not sure on your last question about SA for DellTech Direct. I’ll try and find out
