OME not showing hardware failures or sending alerts

This is frustrating........ I cannot get this back up again. Stopped working on the 23.7 just like that. I was getting reports and alerts where showing. All was good

Checked the firewall and the SNMP_trap (162) is being accepted. nothing blocked.

please help... We have management policies on this and we are currently blind with no info what is going on with the servers.

Hello

You probably want to start with testing a single system. I suggest getting an iDRAC and test alert sending to OME to track down the problem.

Hi, I have 36 DELL servers currently discovered. I have been using DELL OME for over a year. I have set policies, setup mail sending, etc. I can see the devices and enter the iDrac just fine but for some reason no alerts coming in, I tested a server by disconnecting PS and in the server iDrac I can see the alerts just fine but in DELL OME nothing... even the status is not changing to critical on the "Devices" view pane.

this is very important for us. I have gone through the manuals but to no avail. We really need this tool.

Please assist us to find the solution to this.

Thanks,

Hi,

Would you know if there was any change in your environment when this happened? Like push of new group policy from GPO etc.

Maybe you can start with Troubleshooting tool to identify problems with status/inventory refresh and events. Use tests available in first tab to identify if device connectivity is fine using the protocol in use in OM Essentials. After that, you can initiate trap listening in second tab and then emulate a trap from target device to see it reaches OM Essentials system.

If all tests in Troubleshooting tool are affirmative, there could be a problem only with OM Essentials application and not the system hosting it as such. Restarting OM Essentials services would be the first step in such situation to resolve most problems.

Let us know of your findings.

Hi again, Sorry for the late response. Just finished major system upgrades...

We are still having issues with this weird issue. Have checked firewall side, no new GPO.

We have not been using SNMP and it was working fine. All via 443 / https...

When I ran the SNMP test got for V3 SNMP Error number=-36 snmpget - Not in time window  and for V2 I get The SNMP read request has failed for Get Community name - public...

It was working great and just stopped. We have never seen such a thing for we cannot seem to find any logical reason why. We really need this fixed ASAP for we use this tool on  a daily bases.

Even downloaded the OVF template again from DELL, installed but same thing of course.

PPPPPPPPPPPPPPlease help with this.
