OpenManage Essentials is taking an hour to load the user rol

Hi,

Looking at the logs, this is what I see:

General Information 10/16/2018 12:52:31 PM App.xaml Loading user roles complete.
General Information 10/16/2018 11:52:30 AM App.xaml Loading user roles...

It literally takes an hour to load the user roles.

Number of users configured: 3, all Admins, being in OME or the server

OME version: 2.4.0.930

It's running on a domain controller.

During OME startup, there is also an error logged:

Critical 10/16/2018 1:52:45 PM FailsValidation The sender is SmartConsole.DataServiceReference.DataServiceClient and the exception is System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: [HttpWebRequest_WebException_RemoteServer] Arguments: NotFound Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Finally, there is a cache issue apparently:

General Information 10/16/2018 1:52:45 PM DataCache.ClearDeviceGroupTables() Clearing devices from data cache

Warning 10/16/2018 1:52:45 PM ProxyManager.FaultTolerate() Fault tolerance on communication exception in progress -> Count: 1

Every time I try to do an operation (Get the latest catalog, do a manual discovery, initiate updates, either it just sits there or the task is not being scheduled at all).

I can navigate through the tabs and launch OMSA and so on just fine.

Device status does not get updated either.

The services have been restarted and the server as well, multiple times in fact.

Can anyone please tell me what is going on?

Thanks.

Hello

It looks like the application is attempting to transfer data over http and is encountering a lot of issues. You are receiving http web request errors that would be similar to getting a site not available or not found error in a browser. You are also receiving proxy errors. That could be related to the web request error. If the application is unable to communicate on the network then it will not be able to reach a proxy server. That could cause the proxymanager validation errors.

There are additional considerations when installing OMEssentials on a domain controller. I suggest that you review the documentation. You can find documentation on the OpenManage Essentials support page.

Thanks

Hi,

Following white paper lists out requirements when installing/using OME on a domain controller. Good to verify all of them for proper compliance.
