Contsis-yahoo.com,

Normally the Red007 error is due to the iDrac being to far behind. Would you do me a favor and confirm the current versions of the BIOS, iDrac, as well as Lifecycle Controller? That way we can determine the best course of action to get the server updated.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response.

iDRAC was at 2.90 so I pushed available (2.92), reboot and retried BIOS but same failure. No Problem doing the iDRAC.

BIOS is at 6.4.0 - available is 6.6.0

Lifecycle Controller is at 1.7.5.4

Download the version titled R710-060600C.exe.

Copy it to a form of bootable media, such as 32-bit diagnostics media.

Then after booting into the diag tool exit to cmd prompt and run R710-060600C.exe from there.

That should update the bios, so let me know how it goes.

hello there

I bought an old dell r710 to use as development platform for pnsense. The seller who sold it to me did in fact update all the components of this machine.

I must have drunken my brains for breakfast using the life cycle solution i rolled back the version all the of the firmware. This includes the bios. and the server works.

I am not clear on your solution I created a bootable USB with rufus. (freedos) when i boot the server from the usb I get the c prompt.

what should i add to this USB to update the bios currently at 6.4 to 6.6. I tried to add r710-060600c..exe but the solution did not work. I tried adding the Diagnostics_Application_2MM6J_WN64_5162A0_5162.1.EXE.and this did not work. when you say booting into the diagnostic too what do you mean

Thank you for being patient with me
