2 x 4g = 8g to 12g upgrade on my 5675 gaming machine

I see Walmart and Amazon has the 5675 with a 12g configuration. I just ordered a new machine that is coming with 2 x 4g of ram. I don't want to spend much to upgrade to 2 x 8g total 16. I was wondering can I replace one of the 4 with an 8 for a total of 12g of ram?

Thanks

Bob

So yes or no? Can I have One slot with an 8g dim and the other with aa 4g stick?

Like I've seen online this machine being offered with just 12g.

Thanks again

As DELL-Jesse L stated, the Dell supported/tested configurations did not include 12GB. You can see in the online Inspiron 5675 Specifications PDF that 12GB is not supported/tested by Dell. We do not know why those vendors are selling a non-supported 12GB variation. You will simply have to test it on your own.
