2012 XPS One 2710, Windows 10, HDMI Input

I have searched high and low looking for answers and I have come up short. Anyway I have an XPS One 2710 that I picked up for really cheap because the board was toast. Removed the board sent it out and got it back all works good now, fresh windows 10 install. So I want to hook my laptop and or gaming tower to the HDMI input. But it seems to not recognize either one most the time. If I do some restarts and some cable swapping eventually it will display on the 2710 but the resolution is awful. only options are 1024x768 or 800x600. I know it wont do the max resolution but 1080 would be nice. Is there something I'm missing when it comes to hooking up my laptop or desktop? a setting or procedure?

Thanks for your help.

Apologies for missing your post. Did you ever resolve the 2012 XPS One 2710 HDMI in issue? We never validated/tested Windows 10 on this model. Did you find and install the needed Windows 10 Intel H77 Express chipset driver, Intel HD graphics driver or Nvidia GeForce GT 640M driver?
