4 beeps on XPS 8300 motherboard on startup

I installed a new graphics card into my computer and it didn't work. My motherboard now doesn't work at all and beeps 4 times on startup.

The graphics card is a MSI 970 GTX Gaming 4G.

I have also have upgraded to an EVGA 500 watt power supply so power isn't an issue.

I ordered a new motherboard from newegg  I got this one because I am limited by my LGA1155 socket for my processor.

I want to know if my motherboard is salvageable and if there are any better options for my situation.

If you put everything back and it doesn't work then the 500W insufficient power supply has damaged RAM, CPU, MOTHERBOARD, HARD DRIVE ETC. You have to start with what is known working.  Its not likely the cpu is fried because it beeps.

EVGA 500W is not sufficent on the 3.3v and 5v rails so power is an issue.

4 BEEPS

Memory modules not being properly identified or used

One 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector
is 325W Graphics power draw means Minimum 650 W or greater power supply.  I recommend 750W Corsair CS750M Minimum.

Dells Require 150W combined on the 3.3v /5v Rail and

15 to 20W on the +5VSB rail  500 - 170 = 330W

You cant have the video use 325W and have only 5w for everything else including the hard drives.

Take out the video card and put in a basic card.

Does it post ?

If it does not I would put back the 460W power supply.

Power supplies are not single rail units with a rating of Watts.

Dell doesn't overstate the capability of the supply so there 460 to 525 or higher power supplies have more power than 500W and Greater units from various vendors.   Note the combined power on the 3.3v 5v rails even on the 460W is 142W with the 5v saying 25A.

With the 525 the 3.3v/5v rails are even higher.
