533MZH OR 800MHZH

The owners manual for my Dell Dimension 4600i says that the ram fsb is capable of 800mzh.  I installed PC3200 RAM and went into the BIOS, I am only getting 533MZH and I cannot change it to 800MZH.  Also CPUid says I'm only getting 200mzh.  What's up with that?  Are there any bus updates for the RAM on this system?  Is there any software available that will overclock my machine?  Its not under warranty anymore so I dont care about that.  What I'm really looking to do is speed up my ram if possible.

Hi

You need to read the manual again your D4600 is only

PC2700 (333-MHz) or PC3200 (400-MHz) DDR SDRAM
(non-ECC) , and it will run no higher than 400 MHZ .

The 533 or 800 this is for the front side buss for the CPU

If you have a CPU that will run at 800MHZ your front side buss

will change from 533 to 800 MHZ but the ram is still stuck at 333-400 max !

the manual is here !

Good Luck

I see, thank you for the information.  According to CPUID i have a northwood pentium 4 and the chip is running at its max frequency.  So I should be able to overclock it slightly since the mobo can handle it.  I have added extra cooling to the case. Any info on overclocking software would be appreciated.  When I check my ram using the same program it says im using PC3200 (200mhz).  If it is capable of 400mzh how do I increase it to 400mzh?
