65nm and 45nm Processors in the XPS 420

Hi everyone Im in need of some help. I want to upgrade my computers processor and I am wondering does my Dell XPS 420 motherboard support both 65nm and 45nm processors? I currently have an Intel Q6600 2.4GHz 65nm. I am wondering will a processor upgrade be very signifagent change in computer and gaming performance? I have been looking at the 9000 series of Intel Processors, but i have also seen the Intel QX6800 and QX6850. The last two processors are expensive and i need to know if there is a cheaper place to buy them instead of Ebay, Tigerdirect, or Newegg?

Thanks if you need anymore information just tell me.

Hey I really dont understand this could people go to this site and go about half way down the page to the picture of the Q6600 where someone put a piece of tape on one of the pins and the speed of the processor went from 2.4GHz to 3GHz. I really dont understand that.
