7010 SFF bios update stuck at 33% all night
ended up restarting (what else could we do...)
computer wont boot--no bios screen --nothing
think BIOS is bad...
Dell chat to la-la land got me nowhere.
any ideas I can try before the MB gets replaced?

Did you press/hold power button for ~30 sec after removing the battery?
You may need to replace the motherboard... [:'(] If the system is under warranty, try contacting Dell Tech Support again...

will end up having dell come out and replace MB...was trying to avoid that. That's why I tried the dell chat for tech support first. Might as well talked to a rock....no help whatsoever.
Even worse, I got a email fro their "tech" saying that if I had any continuing issues to reply to the email for more help-- I did that twice-- zero response.
note that this failed after a dell command update decide to run updates automatically and install the bios. not sure why it failed, but it did.

Hopefully the new board will be covered by the warranty.
BIOS updates occasionally fail for no obvious reasons. That's why it's recommended not to update BIOS unless the update fixes a problem that you're actually having with the system.
Once the system is up/running again, see if you can disable those automatic updates from Dell.
