AMD Radeon HD 6450 - Dual DVI Monitors

Can you use a DVI-D (Dual Link) to 2 DVI splitter to hook up 2 monitors?

Greetings DAPurcey,

Thanks for your question.

You can use a DVI splitter cable. These cables only provide the ability to display the exact same image on each monitor. If your 2 monitors have DVI only and if you want independent management of the displays, you'll have to use the HDMI port on your card, with a HDMI to DVI adapter.

There is no such thing as a DVI Splitter Cable.  DMS 59 LFH cables are Dual DVI.  DELL H9361  DMS59 to DUAL DVI.

DVI and Display port need a Hub to have more than 1 output from a single DVI.

The same is true for USB and ETHERNET no Splitter.

Only Analog Audio and VGA Video can use a Splitter.  Dell does have a cable wu239  that will take DVI - I (DUAL LINK) and split into 1 DVI - D and 1 VGA.
