BIOS version in msinfo32?
I have a XPS 8500 with Windows 7 64 bits.
I believe I have updated my BIOS into A06 using the file in the DEll home page. When I check my system summary in the "DEll support center" I get the information that the BIOS version is A06.
However if I enter the command msiinfo32, I am getting the following information about the BIOS:
BIOS Version/Date DELL - 20100118, BIOS Date: 05/25/12 17:09:41 Ver: 04.06.05,
Does it correspond to A06? According to the DEll home page the BIOS date is June 2012, here is May. What is the version of BIOS that I have in the computer? I am confused????

Yes, you have A06 Bios version on the system and that is the latest that is available on our Support site for XPS 8500.

Boot to the BIOS if you need to confirm. That's the sure-fire method.
