CMOS Data Dimension 8400
I'm getting very frustrated. My housemate (Homeowner) has a Dimension 8400 and the CMOS battery is failing. I keep telling her that this is a simple fis and that we can probably get the battery down at the drugstore. I want to look under the hood, get the data, then go get the batter. She wants specifics from Dell before we pop the hood.
I'm certain that we're talking about a standard coin-type battery CR2032 but I can't seem to verify that anywhere on the Internet.
Can someone help me here so that we can just walk in and out with a battery rather than ordering off the web?
Thanks!
Rick

Hi Rick,
Sorry about the situation. Dell dimension 8400 system uses a 3-V CR2032 lithium coin cell battery. You may refer the below picture to see how this battery looks:
You may also refer the below picture to see how the battery needs to be inserted:
You can walk into any local hardware store and get this battery.

This battery can be purchased from any Radio Shack, WalMart and most drugstores.
Hint: Before replacing the CMOS battery, make a note of the system setup settings, as a reference.
