Can I upgrade my Intel® Core™ I3 530 Processor to a Intel® Core™ i5-750 Processor
Looking to upgrade my Inspiron 580 with the Intel® Core™ I3 530 Processor to a Intel® Core™ i5-750 Processor , but I can't seem to find any definitive answers if it is possible. I have a Intel PCH H57 chip-set. The Intel® Core™ I3 530 Processor is a FCLGA1156 socket with 2 cores and the Intel® Core™ i5-750 Processor is a LGA1156 socket with 4 cores. I under stand that the Intel® Core™ I3 530 has integrated graphics and the Intel® Core™ i5-750 does not. I have install video card and do not use the integrated video. So here in-lies the question: Is it possible to use the Intel® Core™ i5-750 Processor in my Insprion 580?

Yes, it appears that the Inspiron 580 was sold with a 317-3206 Intel Core i5-750, 45nm, 95w, processor (8MB Cache, 2.66GHz)
Prior to installing the processor, check that you have BIOS version A06, or higher installed, when Enhance CPU support was added?
