Can no longer connect devices to my computer

I bought a new Dell Inspiring maybe last October. Windows 10 Home. Now when I try to connect these devices 1. Sony Walkman 2. Nook 3 Google Nexus - nothing shows up on "this computer". Following other online advice I go to - Device manager- portable devices and select the device shown and get “Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)” or "This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)". The when I try to update the drivers it says it has found driver software but an error occurred while trying to install it. "A service installation section in this INF is invalid."

Any ideas

Uninstall Apple iTunes.  iTunes is the cause because they don't want you to use andriod or any other music device.  Also Windows media player is removed from windows 10 so your MP3 codecs and player are also missing. There has been no secret about why Media Center was dropped. Microsoft wants people to use a windows 10 APP now and not support other music players and programs.

The Google nexus specifically uses a driver from here:

You can download the Google USB Driver for Windows here:

You should also download and install VLC since media player is gone.

The one exception is the Galaxy Nexus: the driver for Galaxy Nexus is distributed by Samsung (listed as model SCH-I515).

None of the devices you mentioned are sold or supported by Dell.
