When you are in the Downloads section for the OptiPlex 790, choose BIOS. That will bring up the A07 version you see. However, slightly to the right, you will see a link for "Other Versions." Choose that to get the version you desire.

Good luck.

that was true with the old version of the support tools, now that option isn't avialable.

I am also confused with the wording of the statement  "Note: You may run O790-A06.exe if you are already updated to A05 BIOS. Otherwise, please update to A05 BIOS first and then flash to the lastest A-rev BIOS." in the important Information section.    does one have to upgrade to A05, then install A06 in order to go to A07?

shouldn't the line be" Note: You may run O790-A07.exe if you are already updated to A05 BIOS. Otherwise, please update to A05 BIOS first and then flash to the lastest A-rev BIOS."?

Funny.   I looked at the link in a different browser and i see the links to the older versions of the BIOS?

Different computer, different version of IE (8 instead of 7), different OS (Win7 vs XP), but on the same VLAN.   (not to mention it runs faster on this box, but that may be due to it being a dev box.

I found the A05 bios on Dell UK website. To confirm, I used my service tag on their UK website (I'm located in North America) and it brought up the correct bios from A05 to the latest. It seems the A05 is the minimum version before one can jump to the latest version (O790-A10 in my case) and bypassed A06, A07.

Good luck.

Not sure how you ended up at the UK site, but I guess it worked for you...

It is still available on the US site. I just checked and it goes all the way back to A02 and up to the very recent A10....

ftp://ftp.dell.com/bios/   look for O790-A05.exe

Dell could do a better job of organizing thier FTP files, but meh

It isn't usually necessary to navigate the FTP folder either, if you navigate the Support site correctly.  There is an "other versions" link on the download page for the latest version.
