Curious about success of upgrading XPS 8700 to Windows 8.1 without damaging Secure Boot

After reading of those who have knocked out their UEFI Secure boot by upgrading to Windows 8.1, I wondered how successful others may have been?

I have waited to update my XPS 8700 because of concern over the screwing up UEFI.  Any replies as to your experience would be appreciated.
