Dell 7459 intermittent boot up issue at splash screen

Occasionally, after pressing the power button, the boot process gets as far as the DELL splash screen and then the power is switched off.

Pressing the power button again and everything works fine. The boot process may take a little longer than normal but that seems to be the only after effect.  Normally from power on to login takes just  few seconds.

Messaged you privately as requested.

Following your advice checked for driver updates and found two, as well as a BIOS update.

Applied all of these yesterday and will monitor the system behaviour for a few weeks.

As a matter of interest, the boot-up process, as observed today, now seems faster, getting from the splash screen to the login screen in just a few seconds.  Definitely, or at least subjectively, seems faster than before but this may be just a one-off and not connected to teh updated BIOS.
