Dell 755 Usff Q35 chipset UPGRADE HELP NEEDED

I have a dell usff 755 running the Q35 chipset and i need help finding the best processor and ram combo

i am looking at two processors

intel core two duo E6850 3.0GHZ

or

core two quad Q6700

I would like to know for a start if both processor are compatible ( bios version a22 )

and what ram would be best for both processors and if they require low density etc

im not much of a gamer but looking for something with enough power to do everyday tasks and occasionally play minecraft which i currently do with the  E2180 but it runs at full usage

any help is gratefully received

please treat me as a noob

According to the Technical Guidebook, the USFF will not support quad-core processors, limiting you to the E6850 as the best option for that system.  It is possible the chassis is too small to accommodate the cooling fan required for the Q6700 ... just a guess.  You could try a Q6700 (which is supported on the larger chassis'), but there will be no guarantee it will work.

The 755 supports a maximum DIMM size of 2GB, and since the USFF has only two slots, your maximum memory is 4GB.  You need DDR2 PC2-5300, NON-ECC memory:

The power supply is the issue for quads.  Low Density NON Buffered NON ECC Ram is REQUIRED for most INTEL Chipsets of this type.
