Dell 9150 and HDD
Want to install a new 1-2TB SATA in this machine and am having a hard time verifying the compatibility prior to buying, mostly this is in relation to speeds and SATA 1/2/3 formats, what is and isn't compatible in this machine?

Hello RyExpress,
Dimension 9150 was shipped with four, SATA 2 connectors on the motherboard. Hence I would suggest any 3.5inch SATA 2 hard drives or SATA 3 hard drives compatible with SATA 2. However the data transfer rate would be as SATA 2. That is, 3GB/s.
Hope this helps!

They all should be compatible.

Originally I was looking to get this for it...

but I read something on this site that the bus controller wasn't SATA III compatible or something

I would go with something like this HERE for less money. Curry really doesn't explain well enough what you're getting. This is a popular hard drive. I have the 1GB version on a SATA 2 board.
