Dell Inspiron 530 Motherboard replacement

Hello guys,

The motherboard in my Dell Inspirion 530 is going bad. I'm currently looking for a direct replacement and want to reuse the case. Will something like this work?

http://www.amazon.com/ASRock-MicroATX-Motherboard-G31M-GS-R2-0/dp/B000WCBN0W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1454015348&sr=1-1&keywords=g31#Ask

Thanks!

If you're convinced it's the motherboard, you can find refurbished I530 motherboards here and here, for example.

Dell typically uses a custom connection between their motherboards and the front panel. And they don't make details of that connector public.

So you'll need to look around to see if anybody else has successfully installed a different board in this case, which may require mapping the connector pins...

BTW: How do you know your existing motherboard is failing?

I posted this a few days ago, and narrowed it down to the Motherboard going bad.

AFAIK it's the lack of a removable IO shield that's the problem, not the motherboard front panel pinout.
