Dell Precision T3400 with BIOS A14 installing a 6TB HD

I just installed a Western Digital 6 TB hard drive in a Precision T3400 with BIOS version A14,  All seems to be working in Windows, however when I go into BIOS for the to check settings for the new hard drive BIOS locks up.  I realize that this computer is a little dated but with storage being it's main use I have no need to update anything other then the hard drives.  Has anyone else come across the same issue?  Is the hard drive at risk of failing because the BIOS has a problem with the hard drive?  Is there any work around that anybody knows about?  I really like the Precision Workstations, I have 3 of them up and running at home, and this is the first real problem I have encountered with them.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

Hello!  I waited to answer this because its somewhat of a Grey area for me and I wanted to see if anyone else did, but since no one did my thoughts are the BIOS is limited to 2.1 or 2.2 GB.  Windows can see it as 64 bit versions of windows are made for super huge storage spaces, but the BIOS wasn't updated until they started using UEFI. I would also be cautious in windows.  Just because windows can 'see' it doesn't mean it can use it.  I've had some computers that were 32 bit windows with more then 4 gigs of ram and windows could 'see' it but only 3.5 or some such was usable.  Its kinda weird.

Works Just fine when you install rocxket 620 pci-e host bus adaptor

Seagate handles this with an installable Driver and format utility.

Also requires 64 bit version of windows

Drives larger than 2.1 TB also require INTEL RST 10.1 and higher.
